The Adolf Fredrik’s Girls Choir with Bo Johansson as its leader has been awarded the distinction of “Choir of the Year 2001-2002” by FöreningsSparbanken (Swedbank) and Rikskonserter (the state foundation Concerts Sweden).
The Jury’s motives being: The Adolf Fredrik’s Girls Choir with its conductor Bo Johansson has with its exceptionally high artistic level, achieved an esteemed name both within Sweden and within the international choral scene.
The choir’s repertoire spans all genres and styles within the realm of choral music.
During the course of the past three decades the choir has consistently received awards and placings in International competitions – the most recent honor having been awarded the title “Choir of the Federation and Choral Ambassadors”.
The Adolf Fredrik’s Girls Choir and Bo Johansson have consistently replenished and renewed both its concert repertoire and presentation.
In this respect, the choir serves not only as a role model, but as a source of inspiration for other choirs.
