Bo Johansson, an enthusiastic and dedicated music director and music teacher has been at Adolf Fredrik's Music Classes since 1971, and founded The Adolf Fredrik's Girls Choir in 1973. Bo also founded The Bromma Chamber Choir in 1965, which within a period of two decades was one of the most prestigious choirs in Sweden, and pioneered and developed many contributions to contemporary music.

In 1990 Bo started Stockholm's Vocalis Ensemble, a vocal group of 10 young singers, all previous members of Adolf Fredrik's Girls Choir. Bo Johansson is in great demand for participating in various choral performances, as a guest conductor, and is a frequently requested speaker and panel judge. Bo is also very activevly concerned with international co-operation on music for childrens choirs. His interest in pedagogy has created pedagogic material for music teaching, a music dictionary for children and several choir collections. Since 1999 Bo Johansson is a member of The Royal Swedish Academy of Music. He is also a ambassador to the international choir project Songbridge.

In 1986 Bo was awarded the distinction of Choir Leader of the Year. He has also been awarded Sweden's prestigious Kristallen den Fina, The Fine Crystal Award (1987), the Johannes Norrby Medal (1988), and The Royal Swedish Academy of Music's and The Axel and Margaret Ax:son Johnson's Music Pedagogical Prize (1996).
2001 he was awarded Choir Leader of the Year for Childrens and Youth Choirs and together with "his girls" he was awarded the new, prominent Swedish distinction Choir of the Year 2001-02.
